🪂 ADVANCED / MASTER GROUND HANDLING COURSE

🏆 Master Your Wing — Master Your Flying

If you want genuinely confident flying, you start on the ground. This course is built for pilots who are done with “getting by” and want clean inflations, stable overhead control, straight-line kiting, confident aborts, and calm decision making—even when conditions are more demanding.

This is not a generic syllabus. It’s master-level canopy control coaching with structured drills, precise technique correction, and clear reasoning—so you understand exactly what you’re doing, why you’re doing it, and how to repeat it reliably.

✅ Pay As You Go — no commitment fee, no tie-ins.

📍 Train at our field, or book a group and we can travel to you.

✅ At a Glance

💷 Training Price (at our field): £150 per pilot / per day
👥 Group Price (5–10 pilots): £100 per pilot / per day
⏱️ Duration: Up to 7 hours on the field (weather and progress dependent)
🎯 Focus: Canopy control only (no powered flight)
📍 Location options: Come to us, or group bookings only for on-site training (see below)

🧠 Why This Course Works

Most pilots don’t struggle because they “need more time.” They struggle because they were never shown the details that make ground handling effortless:

  • Body position and timing (not strength)

  • Proper control inputs and brake discipline

  • Clean corrections before errors escalate

  • A repeatable method that scales as wind and conditions change

On this course you will learn the complete toolset: multiple techniques, when to use each one, and how to keep control without overworking or fighting the wing.

🎯 What You’ll Learn (Advanced / Master Syllabus)

You’ll learn not only what to do, but why—so you can self-correct in real conditions and eliminate habits that create drift, instability, or unnecessary workload.

✅ Forward and reverse launches with consistent, repeatable technique
✅ Straight-line kiting (clean overhead control without drift or chasing)
✅ No-harness kiting (pure wing control before adding complexity)
✅ Harness kiting and transitions (smooth, controlled phase changes)
✅ Weight-shift control and body mechanics to steer efficiently
✅ No-hands kiting (weight shift only) to build balance, timing and precision
✅ High-wind procedures: assessment, safe set-up and correct handling (within appropriate limits)
✅ Inflation control in stronger air: surge management, preventing overshoot, staying centred
✅ De-powering and securing the wing (controlled shutdown and containment)
✅ Dynamic drills to build reflexes, timing and micro-corrections
✅ Crosswind technique and heading control (hold centreline, reduce turn tendency)
✅ Canopy recovery and collapse-prevention habits (positioning, tension management, correct inputs)
✅ Clean aborts and resets: stop safely and restart without panic
✅ Fine control: brake pressure, cadence, symmetry and effective hand positions

🧩 Coaching approach: We explain the reasoning behind each method—what it solves, what it prevents, and why it works. If you were taught techniques that lead to chasing, stalling, drifting, or inconsistent inflations, we will rebuild your handling with a systematic approach you can rely on.

👤 Who This Course Is For

✅ Pilots preparing for paramotor training who want strong canopy control first
✅ Qualified paragliders/paramotor pilots wanting better control in variable conditions
✅ Returning pilots rebuilding skill, consistency and confidence
✅ Anyone who wants safer, cleaner launches and aborts—because great flying starts on the ground

🧭 How the Day Runs

This is structured coaching—not “just a day kiting about”.

1️⃣ Assessment of your current handling, habits and decision-making
2️⃣ Technique correction (small changes that create immediate improvements)
3️⃣ Progressive drill blocks with coaching and measurable improvement
4️⃣ Scenario practice (launch set-ups, heading control, corrections, aborts)
5️⃣ Debrief + action plan so you know exactly what to practise next

🪖 Equipment Requirements

You must bring your own equipment:
🪂 Wing
🧷 Harness
🪖 Helmet
🧤 Gloves (strongly recommended)

Training on your own kit builds real familiarity and faster progression. You are responsible for ensuring your equipment is serviceable and airworthy.

💷 Pricing & Locations

🏕️ Option 1: Come to our field (recommended)

💸 £150 per pilot / per day
⏱️ Up to 7 hours training on the field (weather and progress dependent)

👥 Group rate (minimum 5 pilots, maximum 10)

💸 £100 per pilot / per day
If you book as a group of 5–10 pilots, the training rate drops to £100 per person.

🚙 On-Site Training (We Travel to You — Group Bookings Only)

To keep the day efficient and worthwhile, we only travel out for group bookings:

👥 Minimum 5 pilots, maximum 10 pilots (required)
💸 £100 per pilot / per day (group rate)
🧾 Travel cost: £0.85 per mile (round trip) — calculated both ways from our base to your training location

📌 Your location must be suitable for safe ground-handling training (space, surface, and access). If conditions or the site are not suitable on the day, the session may be adjusted or rescheduled.

⚠️ Important Notes

🌦️ Training is weather-dependent and may be rescheduled if conditions are unsafe.
🪂 This is an intensive, hands-on day focused purely on canopy control — not powered flight.
📚 The Advanced / Master Ground Handling Course is not included in the Digital Ground School or commitment package.
🔧 Pilots are responsible for the maintenance and airworthiness of their own equipment.

🏆 Why Ground Handling Matters

Great ground handling builds the confidence and control that make flight feel effortless. When you master your wing on the ground, you reduce workload in the air, make better decisions, and handle real conditions calmly and safely.
