Online Theory Exams

Welcome to the PPG Training UK online exam hub.
Here you can sit all of our theory tests in your own time, on any device.

How it works

• You can attempt any of the exams on this page.

• You must use your real first name and last name when you start a test, this is what appears on your certificate.

• When you reach the pass mark, a certificate is generated automatically for you to download and keep for your records.

• You can retake any exam as many times as you like. Just click the test again, enter your details, and the system will reset it for another attempt.

Which exams do I need to complete?

We currently have six online theory exams in total:

• Tests 1–4 are mandatory for all students as part of basic training with PPG Training UK.

  • No student will be allowed a solo flight until all 4 of these theory tests have been completed and passed.

• Tests 5–6 are optional advanced exams, aimed at pilots who want to progress further (for example Advanced Pilot progression and Tandem Flight operations).

Your instructor will advise you which test you should be working on at each stage of your training.

Pass marks

• Most exams require a minimum score of 80% to pass.

• The PPG Critical Safety & Air Law Exam (UK) is a safety-critical exam and requires a 100% pass mark,  if you score below 100%, you do not pass that exam.

• The PPG Training UK Tandem Flight Exam also requires a 100% pass mark, as it relates to carrying passengers and demands complete understanding of procedures and safety responsibilities.

These exams are designed to make sure you fully understand safety, air law, equipment, weather and emergency procedures before flying. Take your time, review your results carefully, learn from the feedback, and keep going until you reach the required pass mark.
