If you are already a competent paraglider pilot, you do not need to start again from the beginning.

Our Paramotor Conversion Course is designed specifically for experienced paragliding pilots who already understand wing control, launches, landings, and canopy behaviour, and now want to transition into powered flight properly.

​

This is not beginner training repeated with a motor added at the end.

It is a structured conversion pathway built to take an already capable wing pilot and develop them into a safe, competent, and properly assessed paramotor pilot.

​

Most paraglider pilots complete the transition in around 2 to 3 lessons, depending on weather, prior experience, judgement, and individual progress.

What You Will Learn

Your conversion training is designed to bridge the gap between free flight and powered flight safely, efficiently, and with proper supervision.

You will cover:

• Paramotor-specific handling and flight techniques

• Motor introduction and equipment familiarisation

• Safe powered take-offs and landings

• Engine management and emergency procedures

• Powered flight decision-making and operational awareness

• Crossover tasks to confirm readiness for solo powered flight

You will also complete essential refresher modules in:

• UK air law and airspace awareness

• Meteorology and weather reading

• Flight planning and navigation

This ensures your transition into powered flight is built on both practical control and current operational knowledge.

Entry Requirements and Assessment

This course is designed for experienced paraglider pilots only.

To enrol, you should already:

• Be proficient in both forward and reverse launches

• Have logged paragliding flight experience

• Be confident with canopy control on the ground and in the air

​

This is not a basic ground-handling course.

Before progressing to powered flight, all pilots complete a practical ground-handling assessment as part of the 2-hour session included within the commitment fee.

​

This assessment is ideally carried out using your own paraglider wing and harness, as that gives the clearest picture of your real control, technique, and readiness for conversion.

​

If you do not currently own suitable equipment, training gear may be made available for assessment or initial flights at the instructor’s discretion.

​

Where PPG Training UK equipment is used, pilots remain responsible for any damage caused through misuse or unsafe handling.

​

If your handling meets the required safety standard, a suitable training wing and motor will be provided for your first solo powered flight.

​

Long term, it is strongly recommended that pilots convert onto equipment that genuinely suits their weight, experience, and long-term flying goals.

£230 Commitment Fee

Your commitment fee includes:

• A 2-hour practical assessment session

• Full access to the Digital Ground School

• Entry to the student WhatsApp group

• Your pilot ID card

• Reserved place in the training programme

£200 Per Lesson

After assessment, training continues on a pay-as-you-go basis.

​

Most experienced paraglider pilots complete their powered conversion in around 2 to 3 lessons, depending on conditions, consistency, and progress.

We do not sell false promises or pretend every pilot progresses at the same speed.

Terms and Access Policy

The £230 commitment fee is non-refundable. It includes digital course access, a 2-hour in-person assessment, your pilot ID card, and reserved placement within the training programme.

Access to the Digital Ground School is provided on a lifetime basis for as long as the platform remains active.

​

PPG Training UK reserves the right to update, modify, restrict, or remove access at its discretion.

​

Some training materials include purchased or licensed third-party educational content.

​
