Advanced / Master Ground Handling Course
Specialist canopy control coaching for pilots who want real control, not guesswork
Master your wing and you change everything that follows.
If you want genuinely confident flying, it starts on the ground.
This course is built for pilots who are finished with merely “getting by” and want clean inflations, stable overhead control, straighter tracking, stronger corrections, cleaner aborts, and calmer decision, making when conditions become more demanding.
This is not generic training and it is not a recycled syllabus.
It is premium, master, level canopy control coaching built around precise technique correction, structured drills, and clear reasoning, so you understand exactly what you are doing, why it works, and how to repeat it properly under pressure.
Pay as you go. No commitment fee. No tie-ins.
Train at our field, or book a group day and we can travel to you.

Why This Course Works
Most pilots do not struggle because they need more time.
They struggle because nobody ever corrected the details that matter.
Poor body position. Poor timing. Weak brake discipline. Late corrections. Too much effort. Too little control. Habits that might work in easy conditions, then fall apart when the wing starts asking real questions.
That is what this course is built to fix.
You will not just be shown what to do. You will be shown why it works, when to use it, and how to repeat it without fighting the wing or relying on luck.
That is the difference between someone who can occasionally keep a canopy overhead and someone who actually understands canopy control.
What You Will Learn
This is advanced / master-level ground handling. The aim is not to throw random drills at you. The aim is to build control that holds up properly.
You will work on:
-
Forward and reverse launches with clean, repeatable technique
-
Straight-line kiting with stable overhead control and minimal drift
-
No-harness kiting to sharpen pure wing feel before adding complexity
-
Harness kiting and transitions with smooth, controlled phase changes
-
Weight-shift control and body mechanics for efficient steering
-
No-hands kiting to develop balance, timing, and precision
-
High-wind procedures, including assessment, safe setup, and correct handling within appropriate limits
-
Inflation control in stronger air, including surge management, overshoot prevention, and staying centred
-
De-powering and securing the wing with controlled shutdown and containment
-
Dynamic drills to build reflexes, timing, and micro-corrections
-
Crosswind technique and heading control
-
Canopy recovery habits and collapse-prevention behaviours
-
Clean aborts and resets without panic
-
Fine control through pressure, cadence, symmetry, and effective hand position
Throughout the day, every technique is coached with reasoning behind it, what it solves, what it prevents, and why it works.
If you have been taught methods that lead to chasing, drifting, stalling, over-correcting, or inconsistent inflations, this course is designed to rebuild your handling with a system you can actually rely on.
Who This Course Is For
This coaching is ideal for:
-
Pilots preparing for paramotor training who want strong canopy control first
-
Qualified paraglider or paramotor pilots wanting better control in variable conditions
-
Returning pilots rebuilding consistency, confidence, and feel
-
Pilots who want safer, cleaner launches and better abort discipline
-
Anyone serious about mastering the wing rather than merely coping with it
How the Day Runs
This is structured coaching, not just a day of standing in a field with a wing overhead.
Your day is built around:
1. Assessment
We look at your current handling, habits, positioning, timing, and decision-making.
2. Technique correction
Small changes are made where they matter most, creating immediate improvements in control and efficiency.
3. Progressive drill blocks
You work through structured exercises with a clear purpose, not random repetition.
4. Scenario-based practice
Launch setups, heading control, corrections, resets, and aborts are coached in a way that translates into real flying situations.
5. Debrief and action plan
You finish the day knowing exactly what changed, why it changed, and what to keep practising next.
Equipment Requirements
You must bring your own equipment:
-
Wing
-
Harness
-
Helmet
-
Gloves are strongly recommended
Training on your own kit builds familiarity, realism, and faster long-term progression. You are responsible for ensuring that your equipment is serviceable and airworthy.
Pricing and Location Options
Option 1: Train at Our Field
£150 per pilot, per day
Up to 7 hours of coaching on the field, depending on weather and progress.
Option 2: Group Booking at Your Location

Minimum 5 pilots | Maximum 10 pilots
For group bookings, we can travel to you.
Travel is charged at £0.85 per mile round trip, calculated both ways from our base to your training location.
Your site must be suitable for safe ground-handling training, including space, surface, and access. If the site or the conditions are not suitable on the day, the session may be adjusted or rescheduled.
Important Notes
Training is weather-dependent and may be rescheduled if conditions are unsafe or unproductive.
This is an intensive, hands-on day focused purely on canopy control. It does not include powered flight.
The Advanced / Master Ground Handling Course is separate from the Digital Ground School and separate from any commitment-based training package.
Pilots remain responsible for the maintenance, condition, and airworthiness of their own equipment.
Why Ground Handling Matters
Great ground handling is what makes flying look calm, clean, and easy.
When wing control becomes instinctive, launches improve, corrections become smaller, workload reduces, and decisions become calmer. The pilot stops reacting late and starts controlling the situation properly from the beginning.
That is why the best pilots do not treat ground handling as an afterthought.
They treat it as the foundation.
